Knitgrrl Studio spindle kits come with 1/2 lb of wool spinning fiber to get you started. We recommend Shannon's book Spin to Knit if you need a reference book or ideas for what to make from your beautiful new handspun yarn! There are also other books we recommend -- Start Spinning by Maggie Casey, Spin Control by Amy King, and the forthcoming Respect the Spindle by Abby Franquemont.
If you'd like to order just the spindle without the wool, it's $15.
This is a beginner's spindle with an octagonally-shaped whorl, which makes it handy when you need to place it down on a table and have it not go flying off! Shannon used these when she taught on a cruise ship with Debbie Stoller and they stood up to even the stormiest seas when it came to staying put! This spindle weighs approx 1.43oz (40gr).
All Knitgrrl Studio spindles come with either one brief get-started session (if you are local) or a limited number of questions answered via email if you can't find a local teacher.
