Louet's Trudy Van Stralen (author of the sadly out of print Indigo, Madder and Marigold, and the driving creative force behind Louet's continued product development) has designed this sock-dyeing kit using Louet's Gems merino superwash wool yarn, a yarn preferred by many hand dyers, including Knitgrrl Studio's own Shannon Okey. Gems has a unique twist which gives it great loft, elasticity and stitch definition.
Trudy has combined this great yarn with Gaywool acid dyes and directions for a simple, safe, in-your-kitchen method of creating your own hand dyed yarn.
The Hand Dye Sock Kit comes in 5 colorways: Blues, Pinks, Greens, Reds, and Browns. The Sock Kit's popularity resulted in a second kit with thick and thin bulky wool yarn to make a beautiful scarf. It comes in 3 colorways: Harvest, Floral, and Ocean. Please specify which kit and colorway when you order or we will choose for you.
